Demo 1.2 Patch Notes
UI Fixes
- Fix offscreen indicator disappearing after resizing the window
- Fix the circle screen transition not working after resizing the window
- Fix the offscreen indicator not being within the cropped game view if the game window is an odd aspect ratio / resolution
- Fix the UI timer color not remaining gray throughout the results screen (if the level was entered from any point other than the start)
- Fix the final unlocked subsection being selected when initially interacting with a door
- Fix bottlecaps not animating in the pause screen / when near a door
Gameplay Fixes
- Bubble time is replenished if touching a bubble when already in a bubble
- Made bubbles more consistent by slightly moving the penguin towards the bubble’s position after touching a bubble
- Fix the penguin sometimes going downwards immediately after hitting a ceiling from a fling
- Reset interactable decoration offset when transitioning to a new room
- Ie when sliding past grass and going into a new room, then going back into the same room with the grass, the grass would be skewed
- Resetting the countdown from the pause screen is now instant
- Fix the burst charge timing not scaling with the accessibility time scale during room transitions
- Made the timer timing upon loading a level more consistent
- Unlocking the lock near the countdown switch now grants additional time to the countdown
- Pinning now snaps to corners correctly
- Fix inconsistent downwards pins
- The penguin may corner correct around corners instead of pinning, depending on the distance of the corner correction
Visual Fixes
- Fix the black blobs that sometimes appear in the background of the bonus levels
- Fix misplaced / mismatched tiles in all levels
- Fix the background tiling not keeping up with the camera movement on certain screens
- Bubbles now have particles matching the penguin's soda bubbles
Level Edits
- AA- Key route no longer sends the penguin directly into icicles if going too fast
- AA- Major revision to the optional ceiling pin-fling room used in the key route; prevent players from getting “stuck”
- AA- Made the final room before the countdown switch more straightforward to navigate
- AA- Made exiting the room with pin-able crumble platforms less annoying
- AA- Revised the underhang bomb block room to be less weird / more interesting
- AA- Revised the optional balloon / icicle room’s entrance/exit
- Bonus 1- Made the 2nd room more straightforward / less awkward
- Bonus 1- Adjusted the bomb blocks in the 4th room
- Bonus 2- Moved the 2nd sloped ceiling jump room one tile to the right
- BB- Made the final 3 balloons of the long leftward-progressing room slightly easier
- BB- Made the 2nd rising balloons room easier
New Features
- File select screen
- Added the option to return to the title screen from the pause screen in the hub
- Added the option to disable all checkpoints in a level (this also disables depositing bottlecaps)
- Added the option to change the default burst direction if no direction is being held
- Added the option to hold to continuously burst
- Added “ghost coins”
- Time can now be added to the countdown during the grace period between the clock hitting zero and the level reset.
- All bottlecap designs are now unique
- The bottlecap display now distinguishes: never collected, newly collected, collected on a previous run, and collected on a previous run and the current run.
- The bottlecap level display now groups bottlecaps by subsection
- Slide can now be used to cancel the pin state
- Improved the results screen
- Added the level name to the results screen
- Added effects to the results screen to indicate new time PB, new low death count PB, and collecting all bottlecaps in a single run
- Added the bottlecap display to the results screen
- Added a short victory tune to the results screen
